CES 2025 TV Highlights: Brightness, AI, and Bold Innovations

All the big TV brands were at CES earlier in January to show off their new 2025 ranges launching in Spring, as well as some conceptual tech that may or may not be the future of TV.

CES or the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas sees electronics brands from across the globe show off their latest tech. From robot vacuums that can pick up your socks, to a laptop screen that can quite literally roll up like a window blind to increase in size.

But the burning question is how are brands like LG, Samsung and Panasonic going to improve on last year's TV models?

Is 2025 the time to upgrade your TV? We’ll leave that decision to you.

LG

LG G5 OLED

The new G5 brightness levels have been improved by a claimed 40% over last year’s G4. Blacks are much more accurate, so you get fantastic contrasts. Plus, there’s been a bump up to 160hz refresh rate for improved gaming performance.

Additionally for the first time LG are adding a 48-inch model to the G5 range. So, sizes for the G5 range will be 48, 55, 65, 77, 83 and 97 inches.

LG C5 OLED

The C5 range is coming too, with last year's C4 OLED arguably being the best for the money last year, receiving many industry awards.

The 2025 iteration of the C range will visibly get a bump in brightness with their Brightness Booster technology and have slight performance and sound improvements over last year's model. It also has a 144hz refresh rate for great gaming performance.

Sizes for the C5 range will be 42, 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches.

We still love the 2024 C4, and these TVs as well as the 2024 G4 OLED Evos are enjoying great discounts at Peter Tyson.

SAMSUNG

Last year’s Samsung QD-OLED touted 3,000 nits peak brightness. This year Samsung are bringing 4,000 nits to the table for this range. The new screens are also said to be better at beating back ambient brightness and utilising a new blue OLED compound that makes it more efficient, improving the overall brightness of the green and red OLEDs.

Anti-Glare Tech

Samsung have updated their Glare Free screen technology to improve upon the last version and expanded the sizes of the TVs that have it. We are looking forward to comparing this with the old model to see what improvements have been made.

The flagship 2025 S95F QD-OLED will come in 55, 65 and 77-inch sizes as well as a new 83-inch size but with a W-OLED panel.

The Frame Update

For those who love The Frame (we do) - The Frame Pro is coming, boasting better image quality, with more LEDs for better dimming zones. It will also come with a wireless One Connect Box so no need for a pesky wire to the screen. This will come in at a higher price than a standard Frame, but with lots of interest in this model it’s great to see a step forward for the line.

The Art Store that up to now was exclusive to The Frame is coming to new Q70 and above models. So even if you don't have The Frame, you can get art to display on your TV when it’s not being used.

AI Moves Forward

Across the board there are AI enhancements on Samsung TV models that have it. Features like click to search, automatic actor identifying, AI karaoke (which intrigues us) and other features will be included in many Samsung 2025 models.

All this sounds really promising, but we still marvel at the 2024 range from Samsung and you can benefit from some great deals right now on last year's models here at Peter Tyson.

PANASONIC

Panasonic were also at CES with three new TVs for 2025.

The big feature was the new Z95B, Panasonic’s flagship model. It features a new Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel, a similar technology used in the latest Apple iPad. This multi-layer structure is supposedly like LG’s new four-stack system.

This TV along with the announced W95B Flagship LED touts a 144hz refresh so better gaming response. It’s clear that TV manufacturers are hoping gamers will choose them for their next TV purchase.

Keeping Things Cool

The Z95B also has a new more efficient heat dissipation system so you can play for longer with high intensity games at full brightness. This should result in a longer life span before any screen burn.

It also comes with a new improved sound system with a five-speaker rear panel array and woofer from Technics which supposedly sounds great.

Panasonic’s Flagship OLED the Z95B will come in 55, 65 and 77-inch sizes. They also announced their Flagship LED W95B model and Core LED W70B model so look out for those coming too.

We’ve been selling Panasonic TVs for decades at Peter Tyson and we’re looking forward to what they bring to the table this year.

We have a great selection of 2024 models including the Z95A in stock online, have a browse and pick up a great deal.

A Good Time To Buy
