First, the new tech:
Completely new metal cone design
New HDT (Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology), C-CAM (stronger than Aluminium) cones: a new hexagonal pattern disrupts symmetries, shifting frequency up by 10% compared to previous designs. These are amongst the strongest, most piston-like cones Monitor Audio has ever engineered.
3rd generation MPD III high-frequency transducers
This brand-new tweeter reduces distortion, flattens frequency response and leads to wider, cleaner, more consistent and lifelike sound.
Crossover design
Hundreds of hours of listening tests and tweaks were made to perfectly optimise each 6G model for in-room acoustics. Every driver receives its perfect signal frequency range, especially beneficial to the on-wall model.
Drivers
3" mid, 6" bass-mid and 6" and 8" bass drivers have all been re-engineered to deliver unsurpassed 6G performance.
Cabinet design
Through-bolt technology, thicker walls and carefully positioned internal cabinet bracing give 6G speakers the extra rigidity required to maximise performance from each driver.
Aluminium mid-pod
The 6G transducer and mid driver sit within a dedicated, steel encased ‘mid-pod’ to ensures the best acoustic performance without infiltrating the cabinet volume required for bass drivers.
